Dr. Renée Hamer

Dr. Renée Hamer received her Bachelor of Science degree from Acadia University in 2011. After this, she had the opportunity to work in the eye care industry and was able to garner 5 years of experience as an Optometric Assistant before going on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2020. Her education included a rotation through a contact lens clinic where she gained experience working with specialty contact lenses such as scleral lenses and orthokeratology.

Dr. Hamer is passionate about patient education and outreach. In 2019, she was part of an Optometry mission that travelled to remote areas of Mexico to provide eye exams and eyewear for less fortunate populations. When not caring for patients, she enjoys Latin dance and crafting.
